Q. What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel 8 weeks prior to the booked period, a full refund, less $50 service charge, will be made. If you cancel within 8 weeks of the booked period, we will only refund your deposit, less $50, if we are able to fill your vacancy.

Q. What are the check in/out times?

Weekly: Check in time is Monday at noon, check out time is Sunday at 5pm
Daily: Check in time is 3:00 pm, check out is 11:00 am

Q. Can I book the cottages for a weekend?

Yes, with the exception of July and August, which we rent by the week only except Cabins 14, 15 which we rent for a 2 day minimum.

Q. How far in advance do I need to book?

We recommend as early as possible to avoid disappointment as we do get fully booked for some weeks and weekends well in advance.

Q. Are there boat rentals?

We have four 14 ft aluminum boats equipped with 9.9 hp motors available for $75 day or $375 week and 1 15' with a 15 hp for $85 per day or $425 per week if you also have rented a cottage – if not there is an extra $10 charge.

Q. Is there a charge for the paddle boats or canoes?

There is 1 paddle boat and two canoes available for use and there is no charge for the use of this equipment for an hour or two. Guests are welcome to use the water equipment on a first come basis. If you plan to use the boat for an extended period of time there is a $20 charge.

Q. How close is the general store/ Liquor/Beer Store?

There is a general store located just down the street, within walking distance. It is a convenience store with groceries, etc as well as a Liquor/Beer store.

Q. Are there restaurants near by?

There is a restaurant right beside us, a diner around the corner and 2 casual fine dining restaurants down the road as well as a hamburger/pizza place. There is also a delivery/take out Pizza place in Victoria Harbour that delivers here.

Q. Do we have to bring linens, towels and pillows?

Yes, you will need to supply sheet sets for either queen, double and single beds as well. For our out of country guests we do have linens available upon request. The cottages are equipped with pillows and blankets/comforters.

Q. Do you have cribs and high chairs available?

We have a limited supply of high chairs and play pens. Please make arrangements at time of booking.

Q. What sorts of amenities are at each cottage?

All of our cottages are equipped with refrigerator, stove, microwave(except 14 and 15), coffeemaker, toaster, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, cutlery, broom, mop, dustpan, toilet brush, garbage pail. A propane BBQ and picnic table are also provided. All you will need to bring is dish clothes, towels, linens, personal items including toilet paper, food and drinks.

Q. Is the resort safe for children?

Yes, we have a flat grassy property and a shallow waterfront for children to play.

Q. Is there a play area for children?

Yes we have a large playground with swings, etc. for the children to play in, as well as a sand box with toys, tetherball, basketball net, ping pong, beach volleyball and horseshoes.

Q. How far is the nearest medical facility?

The nearest medical facility is located in Midland approximately 25 kilometers (13 miles) away. The emergency room is open 24/7. You can call 911 and the ambulance will be here within minutes.

Q. Can we bring our pets?

Sorry, but pets are not allowed at the resort.

Q. Do the cottages have phones?

Cottages do not have phones. There is a phone located at the front office outside of the building for your use.

Q. Will my cell phone work at the resort area?

Yes cell phones do get service.

Q. Do you have wireless internet?

Yes we have wireless internet throughout most of the property.

Q. What sorts of fish are found in the lake?

Little Lake/ Gloucester Pool features a large number of fish species. Pike, muskey and bass are both native to the lake, other fish species in the lake include perch, rock bass, sunfish and the off pickerel.

Q. What are the maximum persons allowed in a cottage?

Cottages are priced with 2 people per bedroom, but the cottages are equipped with futons for an additional 2 people per cottage. Please see the price list for charges. The biggest cottage will sleep up to 8. Depending on the circumstances we will allow extra people.

Q. How far away are the local golf courses?

There are a number of great options in the area for the avid golfer. New World Championship Oak Bay Golf Course is 2 min. down the road and is a new 18 hole championship course. There is also BonAire 10 min. south on Hwy 400 as well as the Brooklea and Midland Golf Courses in Midland.

Q. How far away are downhill skiing resorts?

Mount St. Louis is a 10 minute drive away and Horseshoe Resort is 30 min by car.

Q. How far away is the resort from a major town?

The nearest larger town is Midland which is 15 min and the smaller Village of Coldwater is 10 min. away from the resort.

Q. What kind of wildlife can we expect to see at the resort?

A large assortment of birds, turtles, beavers, otters, blue herons, minks, squirrels, chipmunks and the occasional raccoon and wild turkeys and maybe even a bear or deer.

Q. Are the cottages winterized?

Yes, we have one and two bedroom cottages available year round, and they have propane fireplaces for your comfort. (Cottages #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11)

Q. Are the snowmobile trails close?

Yes! Trail C goes right past our front door which connects to all other OFAC Trail system. You can leave your cottage on your snowmobile and the gas station is just around the corner.

Q. What winter activities are available?

Snowmobiling, downhill and cross country skiing, snow tubing, ice fishing, skating, snowshoeing and just good old snowball fights and winter bonfires.

Q. For group booking what is the maximum amount of people that the resort can handle?

We can accommodate a total of 68 people in 14 cottages.
